Happy Johnson spent his childhood shuffling around numerous foster care homes on the South Side of Chicago before and after the passing of his maternal grandparents. His biological mother abused drugs and his biological father was shot to death, causing police officers to remove Happy from their custody. Despite an abject upbringing, he has used the strength of his faith and the support of friends and family to transcend the odds and become a powerful voice for those with the greatest need in society. Today, he is the proud adoptive son of a high school History teacher and a Salvation Army social worker.

Happy's excitement for life, transformative narration about his unprecedented journey in foster care and dynamic ability to mobilize
the conscious of your audience is a profound experience.

His service and leadership have been featured in the USAToday, BBC Your Perspective on the World, The American Red Cross 125th Anniversary Magazine, Louisiana Weekly, and The Times-Picayune. And he has appeared on New Orleans WWLTV Channel 4, CNN, and C-Span.
